We're making your login experience easier

Login changes coming to Q-global and Q-interactive

We are transitioning to a new login service designed to make accessing your accounts simpler and more secure. With the addition of multi-factor authentication (MFA), your account will be better protected than ever before. This transition will allow each user’s login and password to be the same for Q-interactive, Q-global, and Pearson Clinical.

FAQs

For users logging in with username and password:

  • Your email address is your username
Moving forward, your email address will serve as your username for logging into both Q-global and Q-interactive. If you order assessment materials from our website, it will require the same login.
  • You will need to choose a new password
Upon your initial login, you’ll be prompted to create a new password.
  • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
For added security, you’ll need to set up MFA. This ensures your account is fully protected.

For users authenticating via Single Sign-On (SSO):

If you currently authenticate using SSO, these steps will not apply to you. We will contact you separately with specific instructions about your migration process.

Frequently Asked Questions about the new login service for Q-global and Q-interactive

What’s happening?

Q-global® and Q-interactive® currently utilize usernames and passwords that are unique to their specific platform. We are migrating all user authentication to Pearson’s identity management solution to facilitate simpler sign on across Pearson platforms and provide a consistent and secure way for users to access their accounts. This new solution has multi-factor authentication included, enhancing the security of your accounts.

When is it happening?

All users will be migrated across to the new solution early in 2025.

We will share more details and helpful resources as the transition date approaches. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Does this mean I’ll be able to log in to my Q-global and Q-interactive accounts with the same credentials?

Yes! You can sign in once and access both Q-global and Q-interactive using a single set of credentials, as long as both accounts use the same email address.

Why do I need to use my email address as my username?

Using your email address as your username simplifies the login process and ensures a more secure and consistent way to access your accounts.

How do I set up a new password?

You will be prompted to create a new password upon your initial login. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete this process.

What is multi-factor authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires two verification methods before gaining access to your account. These methods are:

  • Something you know → Your password.
  • Something you have → A one-time code sent to your email or generated via Pearson Authenticator.

Will SMS be an option for multi-factor authentication?

Initially, SMS will not be available as an MFA option. However, Pearson is currently exploring options to enable SMS authentication in the future.

Why must I use MFA?

MFA enhances security by adding an extra layer of protection beyond a username and password. Even if someone steals or guesses your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the second factor.

How does MFA protect my account in real-world scenarios?

For example, an attacker gains access to your password through a phishing email. Without MFA, they could easily access your account. However, with MFA enabled, they would also need the one-time code sent to your email or generated by your authenticator app, which they do not have. This additional layer of security significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

How do I set up MFA?

Once MFA is enabled, you will be prompted to choose your MFA settings upon your next login to Q-global/Q-interactive. You can set up one or more methods of authentication (email and/or Pearson Authenticator). It is recommended to set up multiple authentication methods in case you are unable to access one method, so you can still log in using an alternative method.

What should I do if I encounter issues while setting up my new password or MFA?

If you experience any issues, please contact our customer support team.

Will this change affect my existing data on Q-global and Q-interactive?

No, this change will not affect your existing data. Your data will remain secure and accessible as before.

Can I still use my old username and password to log in?

No. Moving forward, you will need to:

  1. Use your email address as your username.
  2. Set up a new password.

I lost my authentication device. What do I do?

If you have set up multiple authentication methods, you can still log in using an alternative method. Once logged in, you can access your MFA settings via your account settings. If you have lost your authentication device and do not have access to an alternative method, contact our support team immediately. They will guide you through the process of resetting your MFA settings.

We share a single login between multiple users. How will we be able to log in?

Each user must have a unique username and password to access Q-global and Q-interactive.

This is required for:

  • Pearson’s license agreement.
  • Data privacy laws, ensuring account access tracking (who accessed what data and when).

If your organization currently shares a login, please reach out to your account administrator to provide unique credentials for each user.

What happens if my organization uses Single Sign On (SSO)?

If your organization uses SSO to access Q-global or Q-interactive, MFA will not be required. However, SSO accounts will still need to be migrated to the new authentication service. We will be contacting SSO customers separately with detailed migration instructions.
