Audience

This training is designed for professionals working within Education or Health environments who are currently a User level A and would like to begin using our User Level B assessments. It is highly recommended for professionals interested in Academic Achievement concerns and are interested in using the WIAT, and other User Level B assessments, in their practice.

Course Structure

The training is comprised of three units.  We suggest you allow 8-15 hours to complete on-demand units.  This time will vary based on the User Level B assessment category and the number of on-demand units.

Unit 1 – Introduction to Statistical Concepts (delivered on-demand)

Unit 1 will focus on introducing statistical concepts and principles that underpin all of our User Level B assessments.

This on-demand, self-paced unit must be completed prior to attending Unit 3 - Practical Application of the WIAT-III.

While Unit 1 is compulsory for any teacher or special educator at User Level A wishing to upskill to User Level B, those professionals who are already at User Level B will find Unit 1 an excellent ‘refresher’ course for understanding statistics and scores.

Unit 2 - Understanding User Level B Assessments (delivered on-demand)

Unit 2 will focus on improving your understanding of the User Level B assessment portfolio and your capacity to use User Level B assessments in context.  The unit will specifically discuss:

  • Developing an assessment hypothesis based on a referral
  • User Level B assessment categories
  • User Level B direct assessment administration principles
  • Reporting considerations
Unit 3 – Practical application of the WIAT (delivered live, online)
