This learning is designed for all users of the MCMI-IV who want to increase their knowledge of the assessment. 

Course Description

This learning consists of four modules and is approximately 3 hours long and is available for one year. This offering introduces the theoretical foundation and structure of the MCMI–IV assessment, including development and standardization, how it relates to Dr Millon’s theory of personality, and detailed lessons on administration, scoring, and interpretation of the assessment.

After completing this learning track, participants will have an, or be able to:

  • Describe central role of personality in clinical assessment
  • Describe development of MCMI-IV
  • Describe MCMI-IV psychometrics and basic interpretation considerations.
  • Describe central role of theory in a comprehensive science of clinical psychology
  • Describe Millon’s Evolutionary Theory
  • Describe personality prototypes and taxonomy based on Millon’s theory
  • Develop a comprehensive theoretical understanding of MCMI-IV personality scales
  • Understand contextual integration of personality patterns and presenting symptomatology in MCMI-IV profiles 
  • Describe steps for interpretation of MCMI-IV profiles
  • Review MCMI-IV data on presenting symptomatology and personality patterns to identify treatment
